About Sea Pals: who makes it and how we check our guides
Make friends around the world by letter on Sea Pals. Keep talking in Chats, raise Doori together and see a friend’s island on your iPhone Home Screen. Sea Pals is a free pen pal app for making friends around the world by letter. It is made by a small independent studio. Our guides check claims about Sea Pals against the app itself, and claims about other apps against their own store listings, with the date they were checked.
Who makes Sea Pals?
A small independent studio makes Sea Pals. Sea Pals is free on iPhone, Android and the web.
Our promise: cosy, on purpose
There are no streaks, and nothing on your island is lost if you skip a day or take a break. Bottles and magpies are earned. Incoming letters have a reply window.
Read our promise on the home pageSafety by design
Teens meet only teen strangers, and adults meet only adult strangers. Private details stay hidden from someone new, words pass a rules filter and photos between friends who met by letter need the receiver’s permission after the message threshold.
Read how safety works and our child safety standards for the rules, their limits and how to report a concern.
How we check guides and comparisons
Our guides use Sea Pals’ own code and shared product facts for claims about Sea Pals. For other apps, we use their own App Store listings and help pages, and state when they were checked. The current comparisons say “checked October 2026” and name their sources.
We re-check guides and comparisons every January. Features, prices and contact rules can change between checks.
There are no paid placements. These guides are written by the studio that makes Sea Pals; they are not independent reviews.
